Memory, material
and the everyday.

Anusha Wijesinghe is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Sri Lanka, based in Germany. Through painting, print, textiles and sculpture, she explores memory, place and the quiet politics of everyday life.

Her work brings softness and resistance, ornament and urgency into conversation. Shaped by artistic practice across Sri Lanka and India, it values craft as much as concept.

Anusha studied fine arts at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, India, from 1997 to 2002, with a focus on textile design. Her education also includes design studies at Sri Lanka’s National Design Centre and postgraduate study at the University of Kelaniya.

Her teaching experience includes fashion and textile design at the University of Moratuwa and visiting lectureships in Colombo. Her practice spans weaving, printing, dyeing, painting and mixed media.
